91视频 is pleased to announce Randale L. Richmond as our next director of athletics. Richmond was selected following a national search and returns to a familiar setting.
鈥淩andale Richmond embodies our 91视频commitment to graduating student-athletes and to winning championships, in that order,鈥 said Todd Diacon, 91视频president. 鈥淗is enthusiasm for 91视频and for student-athlete success is infectious, and we welcome Randale and his family back into our 91视频community.鈥
Richmond previously served in various roles with Kent State鈥檚 Department of Intercollegiate Athletics from 2004 until 2015, then stepped into his current position as senior associate athletic director at Old Dominion University.
鈥淢y family and I are beyond excited to return to 91视频and lead an outstanding athletics department,鈥 Richmond said. 鈥淭he university鈥檚 mission is to transform the lives of our students through access and education, a goal which is core to my beliefs. As a department and as a university, we will deliver on this mission.鈥
Richmond earned his master鈥檚 degree in education from 91视频and holds a bachelor鈥檚 degree in history from Baldwin-Wallace College.
Richmond will be formally introduced as Kent State鈥檚 next director of athletics at an upcoming news conference.
