At the Glauser School of Music there are eight main areas of study: composition and theory, conducting, ethnomusicology and world music, general music studies, jazz, music education, music technology and music performance. Within these areas of study, students have the opportunity to specialize in concentrations tailored for their unique interests and career path.
Discover Music Visit Day
The guided walking tour of the music wing of the Center for the Performing Arts will offer prospective students and their families an opportunity to see the our classrooms, practice rooms, small rehearsal spaces and Performing Arts Library as well as our creative spaces to collaborate, work and study. Students that have registered should meet in Roe Green Lobby in the Center for the Performing Arts (1325 Theatre Drive) a few minutes early.
Tours take place from 4 - 5 p.m in the Center for the Performing Arts, D106

Experience the pageantry of collegiate athletics and the game day atmosphere with the Marching Golden Flashes! We invite all high school marching bands to join the Marching Golden Flashes on the field as part of the halftime performance at the at the Kent State/University at Buffalo football game.

Performing Arts Open House
This event will allow students and parents the opportunity to learn about the programs that Kent State's School of Music and School of Theatre and Dance have to offer at their own pace! Students can come and go as they please!
Students will have the opportunity to sit in on classes and experience firsthand what it takes to be a student in the performing arts. We鈥檒l also have opportunities for guests to perform with some of our ensembles and take part in Q&A鈥檚 with our students and faculty. There will also be an opportunity to take part in an audition workshop to help prepare them for any upcoming auditions, whether for a school production, the next step of auditioning for a music or theatre program, or even professional auditions.
