Two professors have conducted much-needed research on face coverings that use alternative textiles to protect the public from COVID-19 and how to keep those masks virus-free.

U.S. News & World Report has named four 91ÊÓƵ programs as U.S. News Best Online Programs for 2021. 91ÊÓƵis recognized in the Best Online Master’s in Nursing Programs, Best Online MBA Programs, Best Online MBA – Business Analytics Programs and Best Online Graduate Education Programs rankings.

91ÊÓƵ will hold its annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 21, to celebrate King’s life and legacy. Serving as this year’s keynote speaker is CNN political analyst and former South Carolina state Rep. Bakari Sellers. The virtual program is free and open to the public.

The 91ÊÓƵ alumni family will grow by more than 2,500 new graduates as the university holds its fall commencement. The accomplishments of the Fall Class of 2020 will be recognized with a virtual commencement recognition ceremony on Saturday, Dec. 19.

Campus Pride has released its 2020 Best of the Best LGBTQ-Friendly Colleges and Universities list, and for the first time in school history, 91ÊÓƵ has landed on the distinctive list as one of 40 institutions recognized over six U.S. regions.

More than 21,200 people applied to be part of Kent State’s Class of 2024, and 3,819 can now consider themselves to be Golden Flashes.

The Association of Public and Land-grant Universities has selected 91ÊÓƵ as one of four finalists for the association’s 2020 Degree Completion Award. The annual award works to identify, recognize and reward institutions that employ innovative approaches to improve degree completion while ensuring educational quality.

91ÊÓƵ has won a Best in Class award for supplier diversity from the Greater Cleveland Partnership. This marks the third time that the university has received this award. As a multiyear winner of the Best in Class awards, 91ÊÓƵis also named to the Greater Cleveland Partnership’s Equity and Inclusion Hall of Fame.

91ÊÓƵ shines again in the new 2021 U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges rankings. 91ÊÓƵis the highest-ranking public university in Northern Ohio on the Top Public Schools and Best National Universities lists in the newly released rankings.
